Food

College

You must buy £120 meal allowance a term which is non-refundable, so you'll probably eat in college a lot. On week days the kitchen is open from 8am-9.30pm, effectively with a few breaks in between.

Breakfast       8am-10am
Lunch              12pm-2pm
Dinner             6pm-8pm

On Wednesdays there is generally a formal hall in the evening. Once a term, formal hall is replaced by the ever popular Guest Night Dinner, a special dinner to which you can bring guests such as relatives and friends. (You are allowed to bring guests and friends to normal meals and Formal Halls. To sign up for a Formal Hall or Guest Night Dinner, use the swipe card system in the lodge.

On Saturday brunch is served from 11am- 1pm. This is lots of hot and cold food, including the famous waffles that Hilda’s serves. Sunday has a roast dinner but other than that you have to fend for yourselves.

The Buttery and Bar

The Buttery provides a great cheap alternative to the college canteen, and it is even open throughout the weekend. This is a student-run enterprise worth supporting. First point of call for toasties, snacks and other yummy treats.

Cooking

There are kitchens in every building should you cook for yourself. Facilities include kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge and sink. If you are fortunate to be in Wolfson building this extends to hobs and cookers. Some kitchens in Garden building also have freezers.
