St.Hilda’s prides itself on its varied student population that makes the college particularly vibrant. Hilda’s students are from many parts of the world, including different parts of the UK, and have varying backgrounds and beliefs. The college aims to provide every student, regardless of background, beliefs, race or gender, with the greatest opportunity to excel in their academic studies, whilst also enjoy their time at Oxford fully.
If you wish to discuss a matter concerning the opportunities and discrimination at St. Hilda’s please contact the JCR Access and Equal Opportunities Officer, Clare Barnard. Any complaint will be anonymous and confidential, and the JCR Officer will discreetly liaise with the college to try to resolve the issue.
The Student Advice Service run by the Oxford University Student Union (OUSU), provides information and a confidential listening service on all matters relating to equal opportunities, access & academic affairs, and welfare. The Service normally runs between 10am and 5.30pm on weekdays, although appointments may be arranged outside these hours if needs be. If possible, its best to make an appointment by emailing advice@ousu.org, or phoning Rosanna McBeath, the VP (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) on (2)88461 as she is responsible for coordinating the service. Alternatively, Rosanna can be emailed at welfare@ousu.org. Appointments take place at the OUSU offices, which is located in Thomas Hull house, at the back of Bonn Square - that's the patch of land opposite the Westgate Shopping centre and BHS, near Argos.
