Oxford University Students Union

The OUSU council meets every two weeks to debate motions put forward by OUSU members. OUSU deals with all sorts of academic, social, political, environmental, welfare and access issues to mention but a few. The OUSU President sits on more university boards than any other person in the university so OUSU is a very effective way to make your voice heard. If you want information on any of OUSU's campaigns or you have any points you would like to raise at OUSU council, contact the JCR OUSU Officer

National Union of Students

As OUSU is the central student union for all Oxford students, so the NUS (National Union of Students) is the national student union for students across the country. The NUS represents student views to government departments, and other interested parties in higher education across the country.

In addition to the representative role which NUS fulfils, it also provides direct benefits which are open to all St. Hilda's students. The NUS provides the NUS Democracy card, which serves as student ID nationwide, and the NUS Xtra card which provides further student discounts.
